Sometimes it’s really fun to be scared. Halloween is the time of year where ghosts and goblins scare us, but we always know that it’s not really real. Those things are just “fun scary”. Sometimes we get in real trouble though. Maybe you have realized that you are a sinner just like the kid in the video. You’ve disobeyed, lied, or stolen something. You are not alone! The Bible shows us in Romans 3:23 that we are *all* sinners. Sin is breaking God’s law, and it makes us uncomfortable and feeling guilty. It separates us from Jesus! Without Jesus in your life, you can never know peace and happiness. The payment that we get for our sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The punishment that we have earned for our sins is death. Not just physical death, but eternal death and separation from God in hell! That is truly scary news! The good news is that God shows His love for us even while we are still sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus Christ died on the cross in your place so that you do not have to pay the payment for your sin. But Jesus did not stay dead! He is so strong and mighty, that He conquered death and rose from the dead! The best Halloween treat is that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
You can have this treat! Believe in your heart that Jesus is God, and that because of His death on the cross you can live in heaven with Him. Trust in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the only payment for your sins. Receive Him as your Savior today. His payment on the cross covers your sins. That is the best gift that anyone can ever give – and He offers it freely to you.
